Dr. Ellen Reh

Dr. Ellen Reh has been a part of Eastgate Dental for most of her life. While still in high school, she worked in the office as an assistant. After graduating from dental school at the University of Washington in 2000, she purchased the practice from Dr. Stewart, her father. Many of Dr. Ellen’s patients are members of families who have been coming to see her and her father for decades. Dr. Ellen’s patients say they value her compassion, dedication, and sense of humor, and trust her to treat them as she would her own family.

Passionate about helping others, Dr. Ellen has spent hundreds of hours volunteering in poor and underserved areas, such as Kenya, Uganda, and Jamaica, and she is a board member of the nonprofit International Smile Power Foundation. Recently, she has decided to focus her efforts more on the need in our own community, so she has started organizing free clinic days for the residents of Tent City.

Dr. Ellen has two grown children, and four grandchildren (the loves of her life!), all boys, ages 2-6. Whenever she can tear herself away from them, she loves to garden, metal detect, and go dirt biking.

Dr. Julie Johnson

Dr. Julie Johnson has been with Eastgate Dental since 2007. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2000 and spent five years working at dental public health clinic that served primarily children, pregnant women, and people with HIV, and eventually became the clinic’s assistant dental director. She was born in Seattle and grew up in eastern Washington. Her bachelor’s degree is in math and computer science, and she spent several years working in that field before discovering her destiny in dentistry.

For Dr. Julie, working at Eastgate Dental has been like coming home. She says the staff and patients all feel like family, and she treats them with the same care as she does her own family. Her approach is one of respect, compassion, and a bit of fun.

With two girls, ages 9 and 6, she has very little free time, but likes to spend it running, cycling, learning French, reading, and studying photography.

Dr. Donald Stewart

Dr. Donald Stewart purchased Eastgate Dental after his graduation from UW Dental School in 1961 and sold the practice to his daughter, Dr. Ellen Reh, in 2000. Retirement was not an option for him, as he loves dentistry and his patients too much! He still works at Eastgate Dental on Tuesday mornings, and whenever Dr. Ellen or Dr. Julie are on vacation, as well as volunteering at the Gospel Mission Clinic and traveling the state working in dental clinics in underserved areas.

Dr. Stewart is a talented artist. Many of his prize-winning paintings are displayed here at Eastgate Dental. Dr. Stewart has been happily married to the lovely Berta for 48 years, with five kids (three of whom work in the office), five grandkids, and four great grandkids.

Dr. Elizabeth Smith

Dr. Elizabeth Smith is another Stewart family dentist! She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry and lives in Bellevue with her husband and beautiful baby daughter born in August 2014.

Cheri

Cheri has been working in this office for over 35 years. She likes to say that she “grew up” in this office because over half her life has been here. She feels everyone here is like family, but she also has a family of her own with husband of 30 years, Cisco, and two sons Mike and Mitch. Teeth have been a passion of hers since she started in this office and it continues to be to this day. Her hobbies include watching movies, gardening, reading and remodeling.

Dawn

Dawn has been part of the team for over 10 years; she is a key player not only as a receptionist but also as an assistant. Outside of the office she enjoys camping, traveling and spending time with friends.

Stacy

Stacy has been with us for over 25 years, as receptionist and office manager. If you have an insurance question, Stacy has the answer! In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time with her husband and grandchildren, and volunteer in her PEO group.

Christie

Christie started work at Eastgate Dental in 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University. Christie lives on the Eastside with her husband and 2 sons. On her days off, Christie enjoys running, reading, and playing outdoors with family and friends.

Melissa

Melissa graduated from Dental Hygiene school at Seattle Central Community College in 2007 and has been a part of the Eastgate Dental team since 2014. She lives in Maple Valley with her husband Bryan, and their four kids: Ellery, Brier, Emmett and Baylor. When she has a bit of free time, she enjoys camping, cooking and working in her garden.

Becky

Becky started with us in 2006; she is an assistant and student. In 2013 she completed her bachelors degree and is now applying to dental school. When she’s not at the office she enjoys riding motorcycles, hiking and traveling.
